BRIEF HISTORY

Born in Canada, Colt Bettencourt’s passion for football was nurtured by his Portuguese father, who introduced him to the sport early on. He began his journey with Cambridge United, playing from U-12 to U-15, then progressed to Red Soccer Academy for three years. Colt’s career then took him to Spain, where he trained with IDA and two clubs, followed by a stint at Fleetwood in the United Kingdom.

With a variety of club experiences, Colt has become a versatile player, excelling as an attacking midfielder. His speed and confidence in 1v1 situations allow him to create space and opportunities for his teammates while controlling the game.

Joining IFD was a natural step in Colt’s career, offering him the chance to further develop his skills, advance his career, and connect with his Portuguese heritage.

Since joining IFD, Colt Bettencourt's most cherished memories revolve around his roommates and their shared ambition to reach the professional level. He firmly believes that surrounding himself with like-minded individuals fuels his drive and brings him closer to his goal. By training under top-tier coaches, Colt understands that true improvement comes through dedicated practice and a focused mindset.

His ultimate aspiration is to go pro, and he remains steadfast in his pursuit by striving to be the best version of himself each day. Colt’s commitment to football is well-recognized, not only for his tireless work ethic but also for his relentless determination to challenge himself daily, competing alongside and against the best in the game.
